Monday morning a team did a mini VBS for the boys and girls in Estrellitas. In the afternoon Alex, Danilo, Fernando and Samuel came over from Angelitos. The other boys were so excited to help them make their beds, put clothes away and get situated. At night when they found out they would get to watch a movie they started jumping up and down in excitement. I think they are adjusting well to life in a new dorm.
Monday night the staff had dinner at David and Regina's house in honor of Rene. The children frequently tell me that "Abuelita" is leaving to go back to the States and they wonder about the library and the sewing. She has been selfless in her dedication to serving the children. She has been a blessing to our family even when we were just visitors. She always goes out of her way to help others and certainly has left a legacy here at Casa. She has assured us that she will be back to visit and we will look forward to those reunions.
Tuesday several of the teams from the Aleluya games came to us to do service projects. One team cleaned the van and another cleaned the whole dorm, organized clothes and helped give new shoes to the boys. They did not complain about anything we asked them to do and the dorm looked and smelled great when they were finished (in a dorm with many boys, you really appreciate it when it smells nice).
Today John spent most of the day working on the van. He didn't have lot of success, but tomorrow is another day.
Duke and Tommy have been hanging drywall this week. They say it's not their expertise, but they are doing a great job. They have such serving hearts and such a wonderful attitude.
We have all had some sort of bug biting us for just about the whole time we have lived here and Abigail's bites have suddenly gotten worse. She must have 50 bites on just one leg. Tomorrow we will take her to the dermatologist to see if they can determine what it is. Please pray that we will have a resolution to this as it is keeping her (and all of us) from sleeping well and the bites are extremely itchy.
Looking to Him,
Aimee
